KIDS’ CLOTHING LINE REFLECTS PLAYFULNESS AND INDIVIDUALITY
Mom Develops Passion and Talent Into Successful Business

(Coeur d’Alene, ID) July 15, 2007 - With a flair for creative kids’ clothes, Roslyn’s Closet has grown from a homegrown t-shirt shop to a nationwide boutique line. The line of whimsical children’s onesies, t-shirts and hats breaks the mold of cookie-cutter clothing and highlights a child’s uniqueness.
After only ten months in business, the Roslyn’s Closet line is now carried in eight boutiques and on Crisp’s own Internet site, www.roslynscloset.com.
Jodi Crisp, owner of Roslyn’s Closet and work-at-home mom of two, started out making cute designs for her own young children to wear.
“I wanted my kids clothing to stand out from the crowd and also say something about who they were,” Crisp said. “Fun clothes are a great way to show off their little personalities.”
That was the beginning of a clothing line she soon started giving to friends as gifts, and it quickly grew into a thriving venture.
Crisp, a former elementary school teacher and self-proclaimed “doodler,” creates all of the designs herself. Many are hand-drawn in a style that Crisp says, “captures the sweetness and innocence of childhood.” The pencil-colored designs highlight such classic kid identities as princess, cowboy, peanut and silly monkey.
The Roslyn’s Closet line also features Crisp’s clean “circle” designs in a variety of colors with initial monograms or common phrases such as “big brother,” “happy,” and “loved.”
Crisp says she sometimes feels she is working two full-time jobs, one as mother and one as business owner, but the rewards are worthwhile.
“As a teacher, art and children have always been important to me.” Crisp explains. “I’ve been able to combine those passions and use my talents to build a business at home around my family.”
As Roslyn’s Closet approaches its first anniversary, Crisp continues to create fresh designs and plans to place the line in more children’s boutiques.
