Los Angeles-based gallery owner and self-taught artist Dover Abrams
brings his latest collection, “Faces of Downtown Los Angeles” to Florida.

Los Angeles, CA – Los Angeles-based gallery owner and self-taught artist Dover Abrams comes to the Arts for ACT Gallery, accompanying his latest collection, “Faces of Downtown Los Angeles”. Arts for ACT Gallery is a pace-setting, award winning and 100% non-profit gallery owned and operated by Abuse Counseling and Treatment, Inc., a non-profit agency
that provides shelter and support services for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.
The artist will be present and painting live at the opening, providing a rare glimpse of how he breathes into canvas with paint.
Dover Abrams has a long history of lending his talent to assist charities in his local community. Now is reaching out to the Fort Myers community with the same enthusiasm. 100% (one hundred percent) of the proceeds from the sale of his paintings will go towards supporting Arts for ACT Gallery.
“Faces of Downtown Los Angeles” is a mesmerizing series of 20 (twenty) abstract paintings (painted especially for this show) that depict the artist’s general interpretation of the faces of commuters, homeless persons, laborers and vendors that adorn the downtown area of L.A.
Because Abrams’ studio loft is located in the Arts District of Downtown Los Angeles, the faces depicted in the collection, although nameless, are a rendering of the true “everyman” impression of everyday life in this area of America’s second largest metropolis.
Perhaps the most striking component about this relevant and exceptional exhibition is the fact that Abrams manages to capture both the cultural and socio-economical diversity of the area with the stroke of his brush.
