July 23, 2007 (Press Release) --
Atlantic Avenue saw the opening of the only Greek Restaurant and Lounge this spring. Named after the Greek God of Passionate Love, Taverna Eros has everything one needs to eat well, drink well, and of course have a good time.
Located in the heart of Delray Beach Taverna Eros offers what other restaurants on the Ave cannot; casual dining with the festivities that the Greeks have come to be known for. Belly dancers stage sword shows and dance surrounding the dinner tables for those who want to be entertained while sharing food with friends and family. The public is also encouraged to dance along to the Greek music.
The restaurant features Greek favorites including: the Eros Special which is an Meze(appetizer) combination of fried eggplant, zucchini and ‘flaming’ cheese served with freshly baked pita and dipping sauces. Keftedes are another favorite Meze, which are Yai Yai’s country style meatballs lightly pan-fried in olive oil. It would also not be a Greek restaurant without Lamb Chops or Kebobs, which come in steak, shrimp, fish, or chicken served over the aromatic basmati rice.
About Taverna Eros:
Taverna Eros prides itself in serving its customer’s rustic Greek home cooking with only the freshest ingredients found locally and abroad. The olive oils, cheeses, yoghurts and kalamata olives come straight from Greece. With indoor and outdoor dining available, Taverna Eros is the perfect setting for special events and also caters to large parties. The restaurant features a full bar and specials include Lamb and Lobster Wednesdays, Champagne Thursdays, as well as belly dancing classes once a month starting August. Live in house DJ, and Belly Dance performances Thursday through Saturday. Open six days a week Tuesday through Sunday.
