July 24, 2007 (Press Release) --
On Sunday August 5, 2007 The San Diego chapter of the CCFA hosts its annual 5k “Guts & Glory” Walk & Run. This year, Crohnsstore.com has joined the ranks of elite sponsors of this most significant event. Tony Khatemi, Founder of Crohnsstore.com states, “Crohn’s Disease is an illness that can have catastrophic effects on the family. It can be a very stressful and embarrassing ordeal, particularly for children. ” Khatemi, an advocate for health and wellness - including children’s health studies, further says he can completely understand the significance of being educated on and provided with viable treatment options when fighting illnesses, especially an incurable disease such as Crohn’s.
Donna Mills, President of the Greater San Diego & Desert Area Chapter of the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America has completely endorsed Crohnsstore and its subsidiaries. “It is wonderful to have the support of such a strong team that are just as dedicated to helping people with Crohn’s Disease live a happier, healthier and fuller life, and that’s exactly what these sites do,” said Donna.
By participating in the Guts and Glory walk, Crohnsstore.com is afforded an excellent opportunity for community outreach while aiding the CCFA in raising much needed funds to promote their quest to eradicate Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis. “It’s exciting to see a new company that can provide products and information for patients and their treatment team. I especially like the informational write-ups on the various gastrointestinal diseases and disorders,” said Pamela Meistrell, Executive Director of the Greater San Diego & Desert Area Chapter of the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America. “I’m thrilled at the direct link to our website. Partnering with a company that recognizes and supports the value of nonprofits such as ours is vital as we continue our critical programs,” said Pamela
About Crohn’s Disease
Crohn’s Disease is a chronic incurable disease that affects people from all walks of life. It is a serious illness of the gastrointestinal tract with symptoms that may easily disguise themselves as a less serious illness. Some of these symptoms include diarrhea, abdominal pain, and stomach cramping and weight loss. Usually the onset of Crohn’s is between the ages of 14 and 30, although there have been many reported cases in older adults. If you suspect that your symptoms are attributable to Crohn’s, contact your physician immediately or visit www.crohnslive.com or www.crohnspatients.com to speak with a physician confidentially.
