July 25, 2007 (Press Release) --
Corner Care Clinic, a rapidly growing walk-in clinic chain headquartered in Indianapolis, will participate in the Cardinal Health Retail Business Conference (RBC) at Hynes Convention Center in Boston July 25-28, 2007.
RBC 2007 is the 18th annual tradeshow for Cardinal Health with a Boston Marathon-related theme of “Get on your mark!,” comparing the independent retail pharmacist to a marathoner, both understanding the importance of dedication and endurance in the race to success. Corner Care Clinic will take the theme into consideration as it re-creates a full-scale exam room at the show’s Retail Solutions booth.
Founded by local healthcare veteran Julie Beckner, Corner Care Clinic’s participation at the RBC conference signals a shift in the healthcare industry toward offering consumers, the medical community and health plan sponsors access to comprehensive and convenient health and wellness offerings. In fact, while some 450 retail minor-care clinics are open for business right now, that number is expected to explode to 4,000 within four years.
“In the increasingly competitive space of offering alternate means of getting efficient and convenient healthcare, Corner Care Clinic is dedicated to creating value without sacrificing quality of care,” said Beckner, president and CEO. “That’s why we’re so excited to be in the heart of downtown Boston at a national conference to share our story.”
This year’s RBC includes focus sessions to learn about current healthcare industry trends and the opportunity to see hundreds of Cardinal Health supplier partners with the latest and best product information. Camp Cardinal Health gives children ages 3-17 a chance to participate in arts and crafts projects, active games, and off-site excursions. Plus, keynote speaker Dick Hoyt and entertainers Sinbad and REO Speedwagon are RBC highlights.
At Corner Care Clinic’s walk-in facility, nurse practitioners treat ailments such as sinus and ear infections, strep throat, allergies and pink eye; give vaccinations and perform sports and back-to-school physicals at clinics inside pharmacies across the United States. They also perform general wellness screenings for diabetes and blood pressure. All clinics are open with convenient hours and no appointment required.
To date, Corner Care Clinic has opened 25 walk-in clinic locations in Indiana, Ohio, Connecticut, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, South Carolina, Illinois, and New York, with plans to open several more by the end of 2007.
