Newsletters - a Great Tool for Generating Leads
Newsletters or e-Newsletters are a valuable tool for lead generation when used correctly. They offer the opportunity to share useful information and develop trust with the subscriber or lead.

When a lead subscribes to a mailing list, that is just the beginning of developing a business relationship with them. Just because a lead has subcribed, doesn't mean they will purchase anything. A Lead is looking for what is on offer to them, and if it is of interest to them.
So, converting mailing-list leads into paying clients will largely depend upon how well the leads relate to what is said in the subsequent emails or newsletters they receive after their initial signup.
Staying relevant and on-topic, within the niche that was originally chosen for the newsletter, is important. Leads will not stay subscribed to a newsletter if they begin receiving information that is not relevant to them. It is also poor relationship marketing to do this, because the subscribers will feel they have been misled.
Providing information that is of use to the newsletter leads is very important. If they receive an email each week that is asking them to buy something, they will soon unsubscribe. After all, it is supposed to be a News-letter. The Newsletter author needs to set themselves up as an authority on their subject, and be giving away relevant information and complimentary offers that appeal to their leads.
