Pittsburgh, PA (Vyala-Arts) Jul 26, 2007 -- The Sacred Art Exhibition is now the 11th annual event at the BoxHeart Gallery which belongs to the Bloomfield Community in Pittsburgh's thriving art scene. Artists were asked to submit work that explores their interpretation of The Sacred.
Voegtle chose two paintings which are an interpretation of life itself when the earth was born out of stardust and gases. Life was brought from meteors and comets billions of years ago, injecting their seed and making it possible for the first living beings such as plants to develop and grow. Ferns represent the oldest plants on earth and therefore stand for life itself just as ferns being among the first which populate volcanic areas again after eruptions (see images: http://www.angelfire.com/art2/vyala_arts/main/html/triassic1.html and http://www.angelfire.com/art2/vyala_arts/main/html/triassic2.html .)Therefore these "Triassic Prints" from ancient times reflect the most sacred: life itself.
Voegtle's approach to painting has taken a new direction. Instead of painting on silk she currently paints on heavy rayon which allows various painting techniques including watercolour and silk painting techniques.
