July 26, 2007 (Press Release) --
Perhaps the first of its kind in GTA, a new multi-faith school named Khalsa Montessori School is opening this year in September. It is located in The Gore Plaza at the intersection of Gore Rd. and Ebenezer Rd. in Brampton. The School is starting off with a Montessori Preschool program for ages 2½ to 5 years. Application forms can be downloaded from www.kmschool.org.
The unique offering of the school is complimenting the Montessori Preschool program with customized culture and faith training for each child. While English and French are mandatory for every student, parents can opt to also have their child learn an ethnic language and religion. Thus far, the school has staff to offer Sikh (Punjabi), Christian, and Hindi (only language) training. If registering parents request a different religion or language training, the school is prepared to acquire the requisite resources.
Maintaining the quality of the Montessori Preschool program is a key priority of the management. As such, certified Montessori teachers with experience delivering Montessori training in established schools have joined the Khalsa Montessori School Team.
"Our vision is to create a school where children learn about their own faith while fostering tolerance and respect for other religions."
Over the next three years, the school will expand to add the Lower Elementary Program serving first through third graders. Only Montessori Preschool graduates will be eligible to enter the elementary program.
