New Sony HiFis With Bluetooth And iPod Connectivity

July 31, 2007

Despite having its own Walkman competitor to the iPod, Sony has rolled out a line of new iPod audio docks as well as a range of new Bluetooth-enabled home theatre and HiFi sound systems.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) July 31, 2007 -- The iPod docks have been introduced in acknowledgement of the iPod's massive market share, according to a Sony spokesperson at the Sony.Experience More event where the products were unveiled.

Sony's new AV receiver and home theatre line up also sports iPod connectivity, while its HiFi gear now also adds Bluetooth connectivity for easy syncing between Bluetooth music phones and PCs.

"We believe that by combining top sound quality with the ease and comfort of connectivity and compatibility in our new product line-up, we are onto a winning formula," said Sony Australia Audio Marketing Manager, David Allen.

Headlining the new home theatre range is the more unusual 5.1 DAV-IS10 system. This comprises of tiny golf-ball sized satellite speakers and 200 watt subwoofer which are aimed at being discreet without compromising on sound. The system is Bluetooth enabled and can connect to an iPod or Walkman via the Digital Media Port.

The new AV receiver (STR-DA3300ES) is also well connected – with six HDMI inputs, as well as the Digital Media Port option. It can upscale to 1080p and supports DTS HD, Dolby TruHD and Dolby Digital+.

Also new to the AV range is Sony's active audio furniture which incorporates a surround system into a TV stand. The first product in this new category is the RHT-G800, which also features HDMI switching and decodes linear PCM audio to work with Blu-ray discs.

The new HiFi line up includes the Giga Juke system, with inbuilt 80GB hard disk drive and Gracenotes database for track and artist information.
