United States of America (Press Release) August 1, 2007 --
Robert Bryant, Director of Development for the WNC Visitors Center, explains, "We did not originally plan on expanding this soon but considering the traffic in Frog Level has been steadily increasing this year along with all the new businesses moving into this area, we felt we should take this opportunity while it was presenting itself."
The WNC Visitors Center is a community driven project that was spurred by the popular local website, WaynesvilleLive.com. The website has acted as an online Visitors and Community Center for Waynesville and Western North Carolina for over 4 years so when the creators and members of the website talked about the need for an actual walk-in Visitors Center in Waynesville, the transition to a brick and mortar Visitors Center only seemed natural. The Visitors Center is run by volunteers from our community, has serviced over 25,000 visitors and is celebrating it's one year anniversary this month.
Tourists visiting this area always like to take a little piece of Waynesville and Western North Carolina home with them. The additional space will be used to expand the gift shop and to include a new artisans and crafts gallery. The Visitor Center will be renting out spaces to local artists and crafters to display their goods.
Please call 828-452-3545 if you are interested in renting a space or volunteering at the WNC Visitors Center.
