United States of America (Press Release) August 8, 2007 -- CAPPEX.COM ANNOUNCES THE “GPA ISN’T EVERYTHING” COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP
Award is part of $25,000 Cappex.com is giving away to students. Sign-up is free, and there is no essay required.

HIGHLAND PARK, IL , July 31, 2007¬ -- Students can now apply on Cappex.com for the “GPA Isn’t Everything” scholarship. The scholarship is one of four announced today that are a part of 26 scholarships worth $25,000 given away by Cappex.

The aptly named “A GPA Isn’t Everything Scholarship” puts an emphasis on accomplishments that don’t come with a letter grade. All you need is a 2.0 GPA and a Cappex profile. The winner receives $2,000.

“Cappex knows that colleges are interested in more than just a student’s GPA,” Mike Moyer, president of Cappex, said.

“Experiences outside the classroom -- through volunteer work, involvement in school sports and clubs, community groups – cannot be overlooked. This scholarship focuses on these traits with the understanding that not everyone has a 4.0. We want to reward active students for participating in their communities.”

There is also one scholarship each for an intended major in business, biology and communications.

To qualify, students need only fill out a profile on Cappex.com. Once registered, they click on the Cappex scholarship tab for full details on awards offered. Students may apply for multiple scholarships using the same profile.

In addition to being eligible for the scholarships, Cappex students will also hear about colleges seeking students just like them.

The Cappex profile is free and simple. The Cappex profile includes information on academics, accomplishments in areas like sports and music, what students want to study in college, and what kind of school they might like to attend. Cappex students are matched with interested colleges based on their needs and wants.

“Cappex turns the tables on the college search process. We put students in control, and make sure they capitalize on their college opportunities,” Moyer said.
