First Little League Field in Viet Nam

(Free-Press-Release.com) August 9, 2007 -- Tee Ball Viet Nam, located in Dong Ha, Quang Tri province in Central Viet Nam has completed construction of the first Tee Ball/Little League scale baseball playing field in this Southeast Asian country.
Chartered by Little League International, Tee Ball Viet Nam is working with the local government and department of education in Dong Ha to develop a youth team sports program for children between the ages of 6 and 12 years. The group has received material support from both Little League and Major League Baseball.

Four local primary schools have begun a selection process to field teams of 15 students each. These children will receive instruction in the mechanics and rules of Tee Ball from a cadre of local teachers who have been trained by the U.S. staff of Tee Ball Viet Nam. The U.S. staff is based in Dong Ha and also participates in the training of high school baseball players in the program initiated by MLB and VVMF's Project Renew.
