United States of America (Press Release) August 9, 2007 --
The video can be viewed at http://www.myspace.com/djgq. Word of the video’s existence has circulated throughout the music industry for some time, but the video has only now been made available to the public. It features DJ GQ, hip-hop legend Mr. Cheeks, soca music star Big Drew and has a guest appearance by none other than Pee Wee Kirkland, who is widely referred to as “New York’s last don” and is a long-time friend of DJ GQ.
Chocolate to Mocha is sure to appear on DJ GQ’s forthcoming album, although the date for the album’s release has not been set. It is expected that other hip-hop, reggae and soca superstars will be featured on the album, as DJ GQ is a major music industry insider, being the pioneer of hip-hop/reggae blends.
DJ GQ has been an established promoter and DJ since he was only 14 years old in Jamaica. At that time, he was already sponsored by Pepsi and Appleton Rum, so it was only natural that when he moved back to Miami, he established himself quickly as a Miami’s king of clubs. He has distributed over 300,000 mixtapes over the past decade, hosted by names such as Bird Man, Mr. Vegas and, most recently, DJ GQ – Let ‘Em Know 19, hosted by Pit Bull.
Currently, when DJ GQ is not working on his album, he can be seen weekly in Fort Lauderdale, Florida at Voodoo Lounge and Art Bar. He is also spinning at some Dub Car Show locales and other U.S. and international events.
