FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) August 13, 2007 -- Dear Reader,
A few days ago I came across an article written by Wayne Perry (Wayne Perry is compressed air efficiency consultant to the United Nations Industrial Development Organization) in which he referred to the marketing buzz about the so called oil-free screw compressor. In fact there is nothing like an 100% oil free screw compressor as the marketing term oil-free only refers to the fact that the air end is not cooling with oil.

Some marketing campaign is currently promoting the oil-free compressor as the perfect solution for all needs while there is no such universal remedy for producing high-quality compressed air, often just referred to as oil-free compressed air. Ultimately, the key factor is whether the technical solution fulfils the requirements of maximum reliability and efficiency.
I also complete agree with his statement “There’s a growing demand for higher-quality compressed air in chemical and process engineering applications. As a result, the discussion on how to best produce it, is constantly being fuelled. Slogans and one-sided arguments aren’t particularly helpful to compressed air users who require objective and balanced views.” In our daily incoming enquiries we see the same here at Ningbo Xinda Screw compressor factory. (AUGUST brand)

The key factor to the right air quality is the treatment of the air after it has been compressed. It is obvious that the air coming from a conventional compressor needs more treatment than the air from a so called oil-free compressor, however with the right treatment you can ensure a reliable and controlled quality of the air and in reality you need to do the same for both systems.

Nowadays you have highly to take the environmental air quality into consideration, which within a factory facility is most probably already higher enriched with oil and similar contamination. Quote:” In spite of every effort to protect the environment, the composition of the intake air still remains the biggest problem in guaranteeing a constantly high air quality. The compressor acts as a giant vacuum cleaner that sucks in, and concentrates, the contaminants in the ambient air. Fortunately, the cooling fluid/oil has a welcome cleaning side-effect in addition to its other functions. The additives in the oil neutralize sulfur dioxide, for example, and the oil itself traps solid particles sucked in with the ambient air.” In this case the oil-free compressor is showing as useless, as the compressed air is clearly containing oil and other contamination particles. As a result you have to go to the same cleaning stages than using a conventional screw compressor.-end part 1-
