Canada (Press Release) August 24, 2007 --
A new Alberta-based magazine has taken a page from fantasy and made it a reality.
Most of us are familiar with the publications described in J. K. Rowling’s Harry Potter stories, with photos that came alive. But even with all his magical powers, Harry couldn’t interact with The Daily Prophet or The Quibbler.
Homerun Investments Inc., a Real Estate resource centre based in Calgary, Alberta, has launched Swing For The Fences (www.homeruninvestments.com), an exciting new interactive online magazine focused on news and issues of interest to real estate investors or anyone interested in real estate.
It’s free; it’s filled with in-depth articles; and it is animated!
Click on the corner of a page and the page will turn itself for you - or click on the centre of the page and it will enlarge itself for easier reading.
But it is the magazine’s use of animated ads that conjures up a whole new concept of getting a message across.
The photo in a flooring ad might continually change from a dining room with hardwood flooring to children playing in a carpeted family room, to a tile entranceway, etc., allowing the reader to view a wider selection of the advertiser’s products within the ad.
Turn a few pages and another ad might contain a video of a garage being built, a short commercial, or …just use your imagination.
Swing For The Fences is the latest in a series of online innovations from Homerun Investments Inc. which is owned and operated by Alberta’s Candice Graf, host of Canada’s premier monthly mentoring program for real estate investors.
“Everything we do is based on what the investors in our program tell us they need”, says Candice, whose busy mentoring members can watch her monthly teaching online at any hour of the day or night.
With articles ranging from the dangers of mortgage fraud, national house price surveys, how to invest with no money, rent control, secondary suites, etc, this new magazine is not just flash and sparkle.
Swing For The Fences editor, Robert Hayward is excited about the reading experiences that he can offer readers in an interactive magazine that he could never do when he was editor of a print magazine. “If you read an article in Swing For The Fences and wish you could communicate with the author, his/her email is at the end of the article so you can get in touch immediately.
“In no other medium can readers respond instantly to an ad (before an interruption wipes it from their minds forever). If an ad in Swing For The Fences catches their attention, one click and they’re cruising through the advertiser’s website; another click and they can be emailing for more information or even ordering and paying for a product – without even closing the magazine.”
Candice Graf says, “We’ll be adding new features each issue. It’s amazing how excited people become when reading is interactive.”
