United States of America (Press Release) August 29, 2007 -- Document Scanning of Medical Records

It's rare that a single technology can reduce expenses, help deliver better care, decrease the time patients spend in hospitals, and save time for healthcare professionals. But document scanning can do all that say consultants, vendors, and users of such systems. Converting paper documents to electronic images, they say, not only offers the obvious benefits but also can transform a healthcare facility's workflow and help change the way it does business and interacts with patients.

ARDEM www.ardem.net provides document scanning, indexing and retrieval services for a wide variety of applications. Applications for ARDEM’s services include document scanning of patient records in doctors offices, clinics and at hospitals.
Patient record files are picked up from the doctors offices or if required ARDEM can arrange for scanning documents on site. The patient medical records are scanned either to PDF or TIF formats. EKG report strips, MRI reports, photographs are mounted on sheets and scanned. The medical record image files are either re-named by client defined criteria example, Last Name_First name_ Date of Birth or ARDEM provides QuickFind a document viewing application which allows for easy search of the scanned images. Scanned images that are correctly indexed become an electronic filing cabinet available to our clients via their local server or hosted on our web servers. ARDEM expertise is in managing the paper and labor involved in processing large volumes of documents through an organized conversion process.

When you look at the time spent in searching and accessing and being able to share information the payback for going electronic becomes obvious. Our clients are looking to easily retrieve and share information with their customers, or, within the organization thereby increasing customer satisfaction.

When you consider that:
Most documents are copied 19 times
Approx 35% of a workers time is wasted searching for documents, and,
Over 10% of all documents gets lost or misfiled
It becomes clear why document scanning is a tool that businesses are increasingly relying upon to improve their productivity. Using ARDEM’s strong operational and process knowledge, its global sourcing and project management expertise we are able to provide a cost effective customer focused solution.
