Southern Sun Pretoria Set To Re-Define ‘City Slick’ Sophistication
The Holiday Inn Pretoria will officially convert to Southern Sun Pretoria on September 1, 2007, and with that will revive a tradition of sophisticated urban excellence.
R33 million has been spent on the refurbishment of the hotel, set to be fully completed by the end of November. Elements of the revamp include a striking porte cochere and entrance that provide a completely new feel while the design and decor can be described as city slick with a contemporary edge. The Oasis Restaurant, Harambe Bar, the reception, conference rooms and the exterior and gardens are all being revamped and will add to the overall mood of sophistication.
According to Southern Sun’s Managing Director, Helder Pereira, great care has been taken to ensure that the modernisation process is in line with the hotel’s excellent reputation; “the Holiday Inn Pretoria has, over the years, established itself as a destination of choice amongst diplomats, embassy officials, top business executives as well as international travellers. As part of our extensive re-branding process we have again invested here significantly towards owning a landmark brand, rather than managing it”.
To achieve this objective all the Southern Sun hallmarks have been applied - ranging from a World of Welcome with the lobby serving as the heart of the hotel, high speed internet access in all public areas and rooms, Food as a Destination Experience pivotal to the overall service offering, banqueting, and most importantly the Room offered as a Haven, guaranteed.
