Over 45,000 thousand jobseekers walk-in and 4000 candidates short listed in the fair

Pune, 2nd September, 2007: The two day Job Fair organized by Naukri.com, India’s No. 1 job site at Ganesh Kala Krida Manch, Swargate, Pune witnessed an exhilarating response from job seekers and companies from across the country. The fair, which started on 1st September’ 07, witnessed over 45,000 thousand candidates in two days and provided appropriate job solutions to over 30 companies participating at the fair.
Commenting on the occasion, Mr. Hitesh Oberoi, COO, Info Edge (India) Ltd said, “We are extremely delighted to see the overwhelming response to the job fair in Pune. The first hour witnessed a footfall of over 5000 people which is much beyond our expectations. Needless to say, both jobseekers and clients are enthused, and over 4000 interviews are lined up for the coming few weeks. Going forward, we plan to make Job Fairs a regular affair and cover various other cities in the country as well.”
The Job Fairs are aimed at establishing a direct connect and providing a fulfilling platform for job aspirants and recruiting companies, both to fulfill their hiring needs and to build their candidate databases for future requirements. Going ahead Naukri.com will also host Job fairs in Chennai on September 29th and 30th followed by Chandigarh, as part of phase one of this initiative.
Commenting on the Naukri.com Job Fair, V J Sadguna, Associate General Manager- Operations, HCL said, “We are extremely happy with the response to the fair. We saw quality professionals walk in to the fair and we have short listed candidates that have more than 2 years of experience. These candidates will be called for technical interviews in the coming week.”
Sudhanshu Pandit, Senior Manager, Symantec said that “Naukri has an established brand and we are happy to see the fantastic response to the fair. We had over 200 requirements out of which 170 are based out of Pune. We have short listed candidates according to our requirement which includes positions for software developers, technical support developers, and project managers etc. “
Candidates were equally enthusiastic about the fair and very positive about the final outcome. Raja Bansole, an IT professional from Pune said that “I got short listed for three companies and will be going for final interviews in the coming week. I am extremely thankful to Naukri.com. The fair is a good opportunity for people who are searching for jobs, as they get to interact with many companies under one roof.”
