Washington, DC - As a member in the National Defense Transportation Association (NDTA), Luxury Air Jets took part in an important initiative of meeting with the US government this week in Washington DC. Other member corporations such as Boeing, Northrop Grumman, AMTRAK, and FedEx that attended this meeting, are all joining the effort to foster partnership between government, military, and industry. This effort is designed to maintain a strong and efficient global transportation and distribution system in support of national security.
The first order of business was a short Power Point briefing on the history of the National Transportation Week (NTW) which took place in Detroit, May 13-19, 2007; its purpose and scope, by Joe Toole, Director of Professional Development, and Federal Highway Administration. Following that, Chris Baum, Sr. VP, Sales & Marketing, Detroit Metro Convention & Visitors Bureau, reviewed the many successful 2007 NTW events in Detroit. He and his team then presented the Detroit plans for 2008 centering around the 100th Anniversary of the Model T Ford and the “Year of the Car”.
Luxury Air Jets, represented by Gadi Capela of Client Relations, is in the opinion that there a lot of room for cooperation between the government and the private industry. The government should provide the framework and ground rules within which the private industry should operate, and in return, the private industry would provide the government with a profit-making model.
Rodney Kadymir, Luxury Air Jets’ Managing Director, is developing a business plan that will propose a unique way which will be safe, time-saving, and cost-effective for government officials and corporate executives to use private jet charter services to transport themselves and their staff from place to place. “We are hoping to complete it soon so we can present it at the 61st NDTA Forum & Expo in Charleston, SC on September 15-19, 2007.”, says Rodney.
In a letter that was sent to all NTW 2008 Partners on 31 August 2008 entitled NTW Meeting 8/28/08 Recap, Denny Edwards, Vice President of Marketing and Corporate Development of National Defense Transportation Association (NDTA) thanked everyone for their time and attendance at NDTA‘s first 2008 National Transportation Week (NTW) Planning Meeting. “We had 41 enthusiastic attendees from all segments of the transportation industry”, Edwards said, “Our purpose was to obtain ideas, and input from as diverse a group as possible to help us in planning NTW 2008 and I think we achieved our objective.”
