Fresh off the runway after debuting her Fall ’07 collection at the Siam Lotus Fashion Show in Philadelphia, Jypsea owner and designer, Terina McKinney, takes on a new job as “virtual designer.” Jypsea.com now features a “Design Your Own Bag” page where fashion enthusiasts can create their own handbag, from hobos like Amiel to clutches like Lauren and totes like Tamara; choosing everything from fabrication to hardware and trims.
As one-of-kind as her collections, this website addition is an enormous and quite ambitious feat for a small designer; but Terina is definitely a professional, equipped with the know-how and the tools to customize a bag as simple or extravagant as the person whose arm it adorns. Created out of Terina’s pure love for design and customer satisfaction, the “Design Your Own Bag” webpage was a dream for the FIT grad that she made into a reality. About the designer: The concept behind Jypsea is that there only exist two types of accessories on the market today: ultra-expensive luxury lines OR the ubiquitous mass-produced, cheaply made accessory. There is nothing in-between i.e.: unique, well-made and yet affordable accessories that allow us to express our individuality. Jypsea exists to fill that void. The vintage inspired line of accessories includes one-of-a-kind items and limited editions produced in very small lots. Each is hand-crafted with the finest leather, exotic skins, and other high-quality materials in the designer's home-based studio. Jypsea mixes luxury with comfort to create a look that is casually sexy and cool. The Jypsea customer is a confident woman with an active lifestyle seeking casual yet distinctively sophisticated accessories to express her personality.
