United States of America (Press Release) September 12, 2007 --
Fox Broadcasting kicks off their coverage of New York’s Hispanic Parade with Chef DonClark, the Ambassador of Plantains™ Friday, Oct. 12th, 2007 (rescheduled from Sept. 13th) on their morning show Good Day New York from 7am to 9am.
The event is “Noche Buena in the Morning.” Noche Buena or "Good Night" is what Hispanics traditionally call Christmas Eve, when family and friends get together for a night of lively celebration and “mucho” eating.
And celebrate with plantains?
“The toston or patacon or tachino or plantain chip [made from green plantains; different countries have different names] speaks to the reverence that Latinos/Hispanics have when it comes to their food and their family. Everyone becomes a child when presented with a toston.” said Chef DonClark. “Put the two together, and it’s a perfect way to honor Hispanic Heritage.”
Chef DonClark will show FOX anchor Anne Craig what the Hispanic community has known for generations: HOW VERSATILE, EASY TO USE AND SIMPLY DELICIOUS THE PLANTAIN IS. The Chef is scheduled to prepare: Tostones, Toston Cups, Plantain Sandwiches, Plantain Pitas and a few other Latino favorites: Lechon, Flan and “Coquito.”
And on Sunday, Oct. 14th, celebrate Latin pride with “tostones rellenos” and the Hispanic Parade down New York’s 5th Ave, brought to you by Fox’s sister station, My 9. (Check TV listings)
There’s no better way to top off an end to Hispanic Heritage Month than with a parade and some with REAL Latino food!
