United States of America (Press Release) September 15, 2007 --
Gilbert, AZ (PRWEB) September 15, 2007 — Wednesday September 19th is a special day for Arizona. That day will go down in history as the day that the sport of Team Poker was introduced to the world. Teams of 5 players each will compete head-to-head in a 4-round, No-Limit Hold ‘em match.
"It’s something we all look forward to," says Fred Tillich, who coordinates the events. "We are having a free Casino Fun Night, where we compete in a tournament style match against other teams and have an exciting night with our friends.” Tillich is a sports fan and poker dealer that created the sport and has been working on the project for close to 5 years now.
"This is a new way to play an old game," says Tillich. "We have created an exciting concept to bring the game of poker to a new level. Poker players have been playing the same game for years, and now have a more competitive way to enjoy the sport. Anyone can play; you don’t have to be a professional to join. Everyone has something unique to contribute, and everyone is welcome." The group is open to anyone in the Phoenix area.
The Arizona League is forming now and the first season begins October. The matches are played weekly and the season finishes in 8 weeks. There will be a championship series, playoff matches and awards gala at the conclusion of the season.
