"You've Been Lied-To...
And Ripped-Off...
For The Very Last Time..."
Don’t Be Fooled By The Cheap Tricks On Offer By Dodgy Scam Artists That Call Themselves Carpet Cleaners
Unfortunately the carpet cleaning industry in Australia is un-regulated. That means…Any carpet cleaner you hire does NOT need to be certified or have any qualifications in order to clean your expensive carpet.
In a study revealed on 6:30pm news…For more than 93.7% of people in Australia, their carpets are the second or third most expensive item they own…and that’s providing they actually own their home and car. Here’s the rub…why do we shop around for a cheap carpet cleaner and then trust them (in an unregulated industry) not to damage one of the most expensive items we own?
In a report by the Carpet Cleaning Consumer Guide the shocking truth was exposed how most consumers are simply not happy with their carpet cleaners. In that same report there were some industry secrets exposed that would have average carpet cleaners running for the hills. A consumer should be in position of at least some facts before hiring any carpet cleaner and know what to look out for.
Things to look out for,
1. Extremely cheap looking work vehicles that resemble little or no credibility and is untidy and smelly. Sometime no professional sign writing.
2. A tradesman that is not dressed well or professionally.
3. A tradesman that has no interest in what you are saying and fails to make eye contact when you ask questions.
4. Usually when there’s a cheap price on offer this is a sure sign of cheap carpet cleaning (terrible workmanship) about to take place.
5. HERE COMES THE BIG SELL…When you hire a carpet cleaner based on a cheap sounding price there will always be a reason, and that reason usually is – So they can get their foot in the door and sell you extras once in your home. Example: Oh Miss Jones, you are going to need stain treatment, industrial cleaning, deodorising, sanitising scotch guarding and anything else they can conjure up to fool you. Once the tradesman is in your home they know it’s inconvenient for you to cancel them because it’s a whole day out for you so they have the upper hand and they know it.
6. Are they using quality truck mounted equipment or are they using smaller inferior machines or even portable extractors that you could hire yourself?
7. Are they licensed and certified professionals with written proof.
8. Are they insured..and can they prove it with a certificate of currency?
9. What guarantees do they have if any?
These are just a couple of things to look out for before you start asking prices. If price is your main or only concern you are most likely going to end up with a fly by nighter for hire.
