Kathi Tabrizi worked part-time for Pepsi after the birth of her twin daughters who are now nine. After the birth of her eldest daughter who is now four, Jessica Riester left her full-time job with venture-backed AccentCare , a health care staffing company in Irvine, to focus on motherhood. “It was a startup and I was working 60+ hours a week to keep up with the constant change and acquisitions. It was a dream job for someone just out of business school looking to cut their teeth, but not for a new mother.” In the years that followed, Jessica had the same question for each recruiter that contacted her--“Do you have anything part-time?” Each time, the answer was no.
