PHILADELPHIA, PA—Aspiring new company Castings USA is revving up to announce the launch of its unique new web-based service designed to lead aspiring models and actors down a much easier path to fame as opposed to more traditional methods.
With more than fifteen years in the entertainment industry, Castings USA will leverage their highly exclusive, insider contact base as a means of connecting talented individuals with the right people at the right time, helping their clients secure roles in some of Hollywood’s most sought after parts. By signing up through Casting USA’s monthly paid subscription, subscribers will receive daily casting lists via email of classified, unadvertised roles—commercials, sitcoms & TV, soap operas, videos and feature films—complete with role information, character description, specific characteristics desired and direct contact information.
“In all the years I’ve been in the entertainment industry, I have seen so many young, talented individuals get steered down the wrong path,” said Dexter Merle Means, Co-Founder of Castings USA and former New York City fashion photographer and agent. “We wanted to create an unconventional service that could take our experience and know-how, and use it to give aspiring models, actors and actresses a distinctive upper-hand in jump-starting their careers.”
Some of Casting USA’s clients will include high-profile names such as McDonald’s, Target, BMW, Maybelline and Old Navy, and talent will have access to parts on sitcoms such as Grey’s Anatomy, Desperate Housewives and The OC, as well as numerous other desirable roles, whether it be for a sitcom, commercial or even music video.
“Oftentimes, even if talent does get access to a valid contact name, they may not be submitting their information correctly—in this industry, it’s definitely who you know, but it’s also about adhering to certain protocol,” commented Dinnia Henry, partner and co-founder of Casting USA. “You might have the prettiest face in the world, but it won’t do you any good if your photograph gets tossed in the trash due to one little etiquette mistake. That’s where we come in—we help these people get where they want to be.”
Castings USA plans to officially launch their service as soon as January of 2008, and at that point will be welcoming visitors to view their website at www.castingsusa.com. Inquiries may be directed to Dinnia Henry at (856) 275-4326, or via email at dexterdinnia@yahoo.com.
