Bubble gum legends Susan Mont"GUM"ery Williams and Joyce Samuels recently announced plans to come together to create new products and publicity aimed at forming their version of bubblegum’s future.

"As the two greatest bubble blowers of all times, we understand what bubblegum is really all about" explained Williams, Guinness world record holder for blowing the largest bubblegum bubble. "Big bubbles and big fun. That is what the product's creator intended. That is the reason bubblegum has survived and thrived when so many other candies have come and gone. That is what made the product what it is today, loved by kids worldwide. That is why the product will probably live forever, and last but not least, that is why I believe its the worlds greatest food."
"Suzy and I are getting together because neither of us believe manufacturers are really doing right by the product" said Samuels, Guinness world record holder for blowing the largest bubblegum bubble from her nose. "Bubblegum can do what no other candy can do, blow giant bubbles and create even bigger fun. That's what should be driven home, but we both feel like we see all too much emphasis on taste. If you want something that tastes good, have a candy bar. But if you want fun, bubblegums the one!"
"The purpose of our coming together is to create the future of bubblegum by using a simple idea," said Williams. "That is, to take it back to it's roots. According to stories, the man who invented bubblegum would train his salesmen how to blow bubbles, and he was always having bubble blowing contests for kids. As a result, bubblegum has become the world’s greatest food. He really had it right. So right, in fact, that a Wikipedia page on bubblegum says that he was portrayed by Smithsonian as the undisputed hero of children across the world. As the two greatest users of his product, we feel it's time to bring the product back to what he meant it to be."
The bubble blowing duo speak from experience. "I was born to blow big bubbles,” Williams explains. "My name even has "GUM" in it!" After inventing a new way to blow a bubble called "The Chewsy Suzy Cinch," she broke the record for largest bubblegum bubble in 1979 with a 19 ¼ inch bubble and has broken it three times since, the most recent a 23 incher (the current record) which was seen on the Regis and Kathy Lee Show, one of several national television appearances she has made. Her slogan is "27 years and still looking for some GUMpetition!"
Samuels didn't just break a record, she created a record that never previously existed, blowing bubbles from the nose. She first created the record with an 11 inch bubble and later broke that record on a Ripley’s Believe It Or Not episode with a 16 incher and has held the record ever since. The two first appeared together on MTV's "Call To Greatness," filmed at world famous Bubblegum Alley.
"Our coming together is one of bubble gum's greatest moments, and one of the most exciting I've experienced," Samuels said.
