Basseterre, St.Kitts (September 17, 2007):-Mr. Phubast Chesdmethee of Thailand, a world-renowned florist and teacher will be visiting St Kitts from 19 September to 26 September 2007 as guest of the St Kitts Flower Arrangers Association as they celebrate their 27th Anniversary.
Mr. Chesdmethee holds a degree in Business Administration in International Marketing and began his practice in Floral Design at Malaiwan Florist, which organized the biggest wedding in Bombay, India. He himself has organized many weddings in India and Asia.
Mr. Chesdmethee is such an expert, international designer that mention can only be made of a few of the activities in which he has been involved:
In 1992 he designed one of the stages and the floral decorations for Miss Universe contest in Bangkok, Thailand.
In Antwerp, Belgium he decorated the stage for Latoya Jackson’s concert in 1991 and returned in 1993 to do the floral decoration for the award ceremony of the King of Belgium.
He has been the representative for Thailand for the World Flower Council Summit Meetings in Cape Town, South Africa; Penang, Malaysia; Vancouver, BC, Canada; St Petersburg, Russia; Rome, Italy; The Netherlands; The Phillipines; Indonesia; Gatineau, Quebec, Canada; and he was the Chairman for World Flower Council Summit Meeting in Bangkok, Thailand. He was the first and only designer in Thailand to travel abroad for special Floral decorations to places such as India, Belgium, UK, Taiwan Singapore, Hong Kong, Australia, etc.
He organized the huge Floral Show for the 80th Birthday of the King of Thailand in November, 2006 in which two of our local members of the St Kitts Flower Arrangers Association, Mrs Puretta Wilkin and Mrs Dulcie Richardson participated. In fact Mr. Chesdmethee is always creating floral decoratons for the Royal Family of Thailand in the Palace.
In addition to being a designer, Mr. Chesdmethee is also a teacher and taught floral design in schools in Australia and the Phillipines. He has conducted television programmes on Thai Local Channel 5 on Flower arrangements and has given several demonstrations.
While in St Kitts he will call on the Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Agriculture, and Tourism, as well as the Embassy of the Republic of China on Taiwan. He will also be conducting a training session for the members of the St Kitts Flower Arrangers Association on Saturday, 22nd September and will give a demonstration at the Flower Show on Sunday, 23 September at the Ocean Terrace Inn. He will be the special guest at the Anniversary Dinner organized by the St Kitts Flower Arrangers Association on Monday, 24 September.
Mr. Chesdmethee will be accompanied by his mother, Mrs Supatra Chesdmethee.
