The ASFINAG project „LOS – Meritocratic ABM-Control“, implemented by SAPPHIR IT & Management Consulting GmbH, achieved 1st place within the T.A. Cook Conference for the „Maintainer.SAP Award 2007“.

The Asset Management Competition, a europe-wide request for proposals, awards prizes to the best SAP-solutions in the Maintenance and Service-Management sector. This year the jury in Potsdam favoured the ASFINAG project, with WESO-Aurorahütte and Endress & Hauser Messtechnik coming in second and third respectively.
Project LOS – The technical focal point of the SAP-PM-based solution lies upon the creation of an interface between SAP-PM and the Geo-Information-System.
This technology enables a graphic display of maintenance equipment in the corresponding road section via a web-based application.
The result is an accurate inventory-data analysis of the entire motorway network, stretching to applications such as a comparison of costs between Katschbergtunnel and Tauerntunnel.
The project lays the foundations for a company-wide benchmarking and allows budgeting in uniform standards of quality. The conception of the SAP solution as well as the implementation, prototyping and roll-out to the individual agencies in charge of turnpike maintenance was carried out by SAPPHIR IT & Management Consulting GmbH.
This is the second internationally-recognised award for the LOS-project.
In March 2007, it achieved the 2nd place at the „Maintainer Awards 2007“ in Heidelberg.
