Guinness World Record Attempt for the longest drumming marathon – individual, by Jagjit Singh, resident of Greater Toronto Area
Toronto, ON, Canada
Toronto, Sep. 21, 2007 - Jagjit Singh of Toronto, Canada will take a shot at setting the record for longest drumming marathon (Current Record: 101 hours) from October 3-7, 2007 at Mississauga, ON.
Witness an awe-inspiring individual put his skills and talent to the test. Jagjit Singh will be attempting to surpass all physical boundaries while trying to beat the current world record of drumming marathon. He will be playing Tabla for 110 hours non-stop! Preparations have been underway for sometime and the daunting days are nearing. Shiromani Sikh Sangat of Mississauga, located in Mississauga, is the prime time and your front and center seat to this once-in-a-lifetime event. Best of all there is no admission fee!
By profession, Jagjit Singh is a local Tabla teacher in Brampton, ON. He began his Tabla days as a young student of Late Ustad Alla Rakha Khan, and later Ustad Zakir Hussain, son of Late Ustad Alla Rakha Khan. He has played Tabla with various Artists and Singers and has won various competitions. He has also participated in many Tabla demonstrations.
