US Virgin Islands (Press Release) September 24, 2007 --
How far will real estate agents go to sell a house in a down market?
The U.S. economy has a huge impact on the world economy as we all know. It shoud come as no surprise then that the downturn in the U.S. housing market is affecting other housing markets around the globe. The Caribbean is one such market.
While many Caribbean Islands real estate agents function on "island time," super-agent, Jim Walberg is including Web 2.0 strategies in his Caribbean marketing strategy. This has resulted in his local blog - CaribbeanIslandsRealty.com - becoming wildly successful overnight.
Jim attributes his early blogging success to the colorful tales his is recounting on his blog from over 30 years of sailing and selling real estate in the Caribbean.
A recent post - Pirates of the Caribbean at "The Bight" - included a full nude photo of a young lady receiving her Willie "T" t-shirt in reward for jumping off the stern topless. This single post spiked traffic to the site to new heights and has resulted in a flurry of new subscriptions to Jim's blog.
"It was not my intention to use a nude photo to increase traffic," said Walberg. "Things are a little different in the Caribbean than the U.S. Nudity is more commonplace at the beaches, bars and sailing."
Whatever the intent, the results, as far as blog traffic is concerned, have been impressive leading us to wonder if Jim will be using nude women at his future open houses.
