Call for papers for International Forestry and Environment Symposium

(Free-Press-Release.com) September 26, 2007 -- Papers of research findings are accepted for twelfth International Forestry and Environment Symposium organized by Department of Forestry and Environmental Science, University of Sri Jayewardenepura. This will be held on 30 November to 1 December 2007 at Kalutara. Papers can be submitted electronically through the website of the symposium at

This symposium provides a forum for researchers in the field of Natural Resource Management to present their research findings, and network with policy makers and industry. This is the largest and oldest symposium on Environment in Sri Lanka, conducting annually since 1995. Last year symposium received 180 research abstract submissions from six countries and the final program included 120 accepted papers.

Theme for the symposium is Green Solutions, and this constitutes parallel sessions focusing on areas such as Natural Resource Management, Forest Resource Utilization, Biodiversity Conservation, Pollution Control, Social, Economic and Legal Aspects, Biotechnology and Bio-safety and Green Technologies in Industry.
