Northwest Artist Jennifer Lommers is expanding her artistic offerings to include painting demonstrations on http://www.YouTube.com. Her latest demonstration showcases the making of a painting “The Nesting Chair” donated to the Children’s Museum of Skagit County. This piece will be auctioned off at the annual “Chairity Auction” event hosted in Bow, Washington on October 6, 2007. For more information on this event, please contact the Children’s Museum of Skagit County.
Trained in Fine Art at the University of Washington, Jennifer learned the art of teaching at Western Washington University and has enjoyed offering occasional classes in Acrylic Painting for children and adults ever since. Though having recently returned to the world of art after being away for several years, Jennifer is throwing herself into her work and creating an explosion of new bright and bold paintings being showcased around the Pacific Northwest. When asked what inspired her to add her painting to the growing number of videos shared on YouTube, she answered: “The online generation has an amazing amount of technological tools and information available to them, yet the simple transformation of a painting can be just as amazing. More importantly though, I wanted to share the importance of giving to our community in whatever way we can. Giving our time, expertise, and money to charity crosses generations and classes. We can all give in some way. I hope this little painting demonstration only helps to bring more attention to the importance of giving.”
