For_Immediate_Release:

United Kingdom of Great Britain & N. Ireland (Press Release) September 28, 2007 -- Caroline Lovelace-Jones, the former MI-21 Madrid Bureau Chief in David J Grant’s novel The Treaty, has still not been located despite a global search. Lovelace-Jones was seriously injured in a shooting and at one stage feared dead. David J Grant the author of The Treaty said, she later made a remarkable recovery and was thought to be living somewhere in the England. Andrew Davies, who played the lead character in the novel, was travelling with Caroline at the time of the shooting and escaped without injury. Davies has since been accused of the manslaughter of two other people at the scene of the incident and after jumping bail is thought to be living in South America.
Caroline Lovelace-Jones was reprimanded for a series of security breaches against the official secrets act by British officials however, Grant said, she has since been cleared of these and no further action is being taken. Despite being unable to find Lovelace-Jones, author David J Grant and his publishers will welcome the opportunity to speak with other women who could play the role of the character and could act in a new proposed film about the story which they hope will be made early in the new year.
Described as being in her early 40’s and very attractive with short blonde hair. Lovelace-Jones is an expert with firearms. He warned the woman in his book is trained in personal defence and should be directly approached. Anyone who thinks they know the whereabouts of a Caroline Lovelace-Jones should first read ‘The Treaty’ before contacting Publishers Samosirbooks.com
Conspiracy lovers will welcome ‘The Treaty’ (ISBN: 9780954884222 Published by Samosir Books Ltd) A complex thriller linking a senior member of the British royal family and an ex-US president to a narcotic treaty dating back to the 1960's. The central plot of Grant's novel is the claim that the USA and Britain are controlling the sale and production of narcotics on a global basis. Linking Britain's drug dealing history and the control and influence governments and individuals have over markets for illegal drugs. David J Grant builds his story based on research conducted by the United Nations and the illegal drugs industry, said to be worth more than $300 billion dollars a year at retail level and with 93% of all opiates now coming from Afghanistan. Grant's highly believable is supported by daily news coming from the Middle East region and the continuing war on terror.
Grant says that when he began writing his book he based it on the historic fact that Britain was a leading supplier of opium for 150 years until the beginning of the twentieth century. The story, often quite disturbing, involves both murder and tragedy revealing real life characters in the plot. The reader gains a new insight into the personality and early life of Prince Philip before he married The Queen. Grant sets out the case stating why such a high profile man could have been involved in a plot such as this in the right circumstances. We discover Prince Philip had a disturbing and lonely childhood with a high degree of insecurity which stemmed from his own family background. We find it possible to empathize with the Prince and can comprehend how he would easily have become involved in a conspiracy such as The Treaty. Other important characters include both American Presidents Nixon and George Bush Senior.
After a dramatic introduction in the first chapter the story resumes at the home of Publisher Dominic Marsh, which happens to be situated right on the edge of Princess Diana's former home and the Spencer family estate. Here we meet a young Argentinean au pair called Maria Farnese and Andrew Davies. Andy (as he is called throughout the book) is a thirty something telecoms specialist who, while travelling home unexpectedly meets with Maria during a violent thunderstorm. Davies suffers a minor injury to his foot, caused by Maria and agrees to her offer of a bed for the night. This happens to coincide with the weekend her boss and his wife are staying away. During the same night Andy makes his discovery finding a copy of The Treaty.
Intrigued, only later does Andy begin to realize the significance of the documents and from here e vents begin to move fast. In the course of a few days he travels to Europe and a little later to the Far East. During each journey he experiences a new revelation and at this point real tragedy strikes. Now at a low point in his life he is more convinced than ever he must prove these documents are for real. To do this he has to discover the location of actual signed authentic copy which from evidence in his procession he is sure does exist.
Unfortunately Andy is not alone in this search and there are other more powerful people who need to keep the lid on this secret accord. While Andy's search continues he grows increasingly aware of how high up the establishment ladder in both the USA and Britain; he will have to rise to discover the real decision makers behind The Treaty.
As dark forces emerge life becomes untenable with Andy almost killed. Never knowing who he can trust it is a relief meeting one woman in particular, Caroline Lovelace-Jones. She is a member of the British secret services working for MI-21, and is the Bureau Chief of their Madrid office. Caroline is a great character and will be popular with all women over 40. Feisty, attractive and very fit. David J Grant has written a demanding novel, both exciting and fast paced. It is totally believable and smudges the line between fact and fiction, probably confirming what many readers already think they know is true. His characters and plot are original and by the end, you feel very close to both Andy as a person and to some of the people in his life. The locations and scenery are equally unusual especially in Asia and may stimulate readers to go off in search of these out of the way places.
