NASHVILLE, TN --Vince Young is starting to prove all the naysayers wrong, even myself. At the beginning when Vince Young was drafted, I was a bit disapointed. The biggest reason for my disapointment was that, the guy basically on his own, beat my USC Trogans in the 2006 Rose Bowl. I disliked his throwing motion and I thought he was nothing but a guy who would turn out to be a bust, all based on the performance in that game. Finally, I'm glad to admit that so far I've been wrong. For the last past couple of weeks, I've seen Vince Young mature into something many didn't want him to, mainly because they wanted to be right about him.

Vince Young's decision making has improved, making naysayers lean to the conclusion that Vince Young IS a quarterback first. Many believed Vince Young was a guy who only went through one read then took off. Lately, we've been seeing him using running as a last resort and is successful majority of the time. Well, majority is an understatement, I haven't seen one play where he opted to run and it went for negative yardage.

The main thing critics bring up when trying to somehow evaluate how Vince Young's future will turn out, they bring up passing statistics and compare it to who we call "The Great Quarterbacks" who are obviously in the NFL Hall of Fame. While that's not a bad thing to do, it still doesn't give you any kind valid idea on where Vince Young's career is heading.

One thing people have to place into the equation is the size of the man's heart. Something they can't measure, so they ignore it. The game of football hasn't seen a player of Vince Young's caliber in quite sometime, so they don't know how to handle a player like this. Merril Hodge for an example, criticized Vince Young down to Young's last bone, but Young week in and week out made Merril Hodge look like an idiot for jumping the gun and clearly deciding Vince Young's future before Young even took a snap in the NFL.

Lately, Hodge has been picking the Titans to win certain games. But why? , Because of Vince Young. While some people still don't want to admit how good of a player this guy is, they're starting to take notice and starting to realize there are still good quarterbacks, who have the potential to become great who have the ability to pass and run, and are slowly starting to jump on the bandwagon.

Now, Vince Young has another obstacle to dodge and it's the Madden Cover Curse. While, I don't believe in it, everytime Vince Young gets up slowly, or goes in the locker room to get an IV, hundreds of websites and radio shows automatically jump on the EA Sports Madden Cover Jinx and then start to criticize the guy even more.

Vince Young is becoming exactly what they didn't want him to become, and that's a Great Football Player!
