United States of America (Press Release) September 30, 2007 --
SEPTEMBER 25, 2007 (LOS ANGELES, CA) -- The renowned Hotel Cafe has invited the popular folk-rock band Michael Mazochi and the Ratskulls to perform an exclusive industry showcase. The intimate venue is one of the hottest spots in Los Angeles, known for opening its doors to some of the best singer/songwriters in town. The show starts at 7:00 PM on Thursday, October 4th. While general admission is $10, industry professionals may make complimentary reservations by contacting Kelsey Link.
The Hotel Cafe is located at 1623 1/2 N. Cahuenga Blvd in Hollywood, 1/2 a block south of Hollywood Blvd on the West side of the street. Valet parking is available for $5 behind the venue.
About The Band: Michael Mazochi and his band (whose name is ever-changing) embody the spirit of rock’n’roll. Rock’n’roll, in this case, refers to the good old-fashioned blood and sweat kind that seems to have been buried by fabricated pop acts and Swedish songwriting teams in recent years. In the studio, Mazochi creates mostly alone, preferring lush and layered arrangements with a hint of abrasion below the surface. Live, Mazochi is joined by the band – made up of Mike Miller, Tedd Buffa and Laura Bilodeau – to give engaging, blistering performances.
The band's eclectic mix of rock’n’roll, mountain music, deep Southern blues and streaks of punk, have made them a favorite among fans and the Hotel Cafe. Mazochi will release a double record as two separate volumes. The first volume, titled “Until My Teeth Turn Into Sand” will be released late 2007.
