United States of America (Press Release) October 1, 2007 --
Mill Valley, October 1, 2007 – Unlocking the desktop and offline capabilities of internet communications, CommuniGate Systems, the leader in scalable carrier-class Rich Media solutions, announced a public beta of its unified communications framework, Pronto! built on Adobe® AIR™ today in conjunction with Adobe MAX 2007 in Chicago. Adobe AIR is a cross-operating system application runtime for building and deploying Rich Internet Applications (RIAs) to the desktop.
Pronto! built on Adobe AIR supports features not possible before with your traditional webmail or Internet browser delivered RIAs. For example, Pronto! users can now open separate windows for IM, calendars and events, and e-mail. The latest version also provides a seamless offline/online transition, as Pronto! automatically detects the presence of an available network and prompts the user to send any queued messages. A perfect companion for the heavy business traveler or commuter, freeing the user to read, reply and compose messages and modify your calendar and events while on the train or airplane. Pronto! will also feature natural drag-and-drop operations allowing users to save and add attachments from e-mail, or upload content to “My Stuff” files.
“Adobe AIR ties together the best of the Web and the best of the desktop and expands a whole new realm of possibilities for developers,” said Adrian Ludwig, group product marketing manager at Adobe. “CommuniGate Systems’ Pronto! is a prime example of the next generation of rich internet applications working across operating systems, and both inside and outside the browser.”
“From the start, our mission has been to unify all the new forms of Internet communications and rich media — as effortlessly and naturally as possible,” said Jon R. Doyle, VP Business Development at CommuniGate Systems. “With Adobe AIR, Pronto! delivers a more powerful, intuitive experience that puts the Web 2.0 office in the user’s hands today. We see Pronto! as a unique extensible framework where social networks and businesses can plug in applications leveraging the powerful unified communications applications in mash-ups.”
Pronto! offers an unprecedented single point of access for all voice and data communications —from e-mail and IM, to chat, voice, music, photos, calendar, and groupware. It provides an extremely stable and secure platform to promote team collaboration and increase employee productivity. Whether they’re in the office, at home, or on the road, users can access e-mail and saved files, schedule team meetings, and call colleagues from the unified Pronto! interface.
General availability of Pronto! built on Adobe AIR will be in early 2008. To participate in the public beta with a free trial of Pronto! built on Adobe AIR, visit http://www.TalktoIP.com and Sign In for an account with yourusername @talktoip.com.
