TeqSpotter.ru launched TeqSpotter Students Community (www.community.teqspotter.ru), a social network for students today.
Purpose: The purpose of this site is to provide students with the ability to create personal learning environments. This includes creating ePortfolios, sharing files and web resources/bookmarks, and forming informal learning groups. This is a social learning website with many similar features as other social websites with the ability to add friends, blog, podcast, and more. Students at a minimum can use this website to transfer files from school to home.
Security: This site has many security features that you don't find on sites such as MySpace. Throughout the site as you create your profile and begin adding content such as Word Documents and powerpoints, you will be given the option to allow access to your files. Here are the 3 options: 1. Public - Anyone can have access
2. Logged-in - Only those who can login can access
3. Private - Only you have access
