Leading Independent Libertarian Presidential Candidate Daniel Imperato renews offer to negotiate peace in the Middle East
West Palm Beach, FL – (i1connect News) – Today, International businessman, and 2008 US Presidential Candidate, Daniel Imperato, offered to negotiate a settlement between Israel and Hamas. He sent a message to the group of prominent Israeli academics and writers who urged their government to negotiate a ceasefire with Hamas. "I agree with their assertion that it would help bring an end to the suffering of Israelis and of Palestinians living in the occupied territories".
Internationally-acclaimed authors Amos Oz, David Grossman and AB Yehoshua were among the signatories. They issued this statement to the BBC, ""Now, the appropriate course of action is to negotiate with Hamas to reach a general ceasefire to prevent further suffering for both sides."
Imperato first made the offer to negotiate two years ago. "I issued a press release back on Sept. 16, 2005 requesting Mahmoud Abbas to show his sincere interest in leading his people to a peaceful solution along with the same request for Ariel Sharon, who had responded from Mahmoud Abbas' phone call with best wishes to Mr. Abbas, for Ramadan," said Imperato. "Things have changed since, but there still needs to be a dialogue and a willingness on both sides to resolve the longstanding disagreements. So I once again offer my services as a diplomatic envoy to get all sides talking."
Imperato found it ironic that these two differing cultures both had similar goals for their prayer during their holiest period of the year.
"What stands out for me is quite simple and astonishing that the people of the Muslim faith and the Jewish faith are all praying for a similar prayer to God, that peace, prosperity, and mutual respect will be brought to the region, the people, the children, and the rest of the world," commented Imperato.
Imperato went on to conclude his statement by saying, "I believe that we should all be in prayer together as human beings. We share a mutual desire for goodness and peaceful times in the region”.
