United States of America (Press Release) October 12, 2007 --
As we all know, we share the same planet no matter who we are and what we believe. If we focus what divides us, it would be clear that negativity will appear in everywhere and in everything we do, touch or talk about. If we focus what unites us as global citizens, then it will be clear that harmony between us will grow in everywhere and in everything we do, touch or talk about. Unfortunately, it seems that, according to the current situations of the world, the gap between the West and the Muslim World is widening in almost every dimension as to ways to think, how to think and what to believe about each other. It seems that we live in separate Fantasy Worlds where we seem to ignore or don't care about each other's position as if we are the center of the Truth, we claim that others are wrong, their culture is outdated. We demand, like a two-year old child craving for sweets, for our scale of Mentality to measure others' values and outcast them if they don't meet that level of our Expectation of Value. To shorten a long list of examples, we seem to be judgmental before seeing it...
As a matter of fact, there are a couple of hot issues that lit an unfriendly fire of passion between the West and the Muslim World; maybe the War in Iraq is one of these Hot Passions. However, by surfing the Internet, I came across another thing, which is the reality surrounding Somali-born Dutch citizen Ayaan Hirsi Ali, a critical thinker about Islam and the reaction to that reality. There are two articles about Ayaan Hirsi Ali blazing with Hot Passion according to my reading of them. The two articles are A REFUGEE FROM WESTERN EUROPE written by Sam Harris and Salman Rushdie, and AYAAN HIRSI ALI VS THE WEST written by Eboo Patel, which is a response to the first article. Below is the link.

In a nutshell, I think the Thinkers of the West and the Thinkers of the Muslim World need to observe their minds before saying anything to discredit the other side.
My final world is, the world is beautiful with diversity; let us accept this reality that there is only one planet called Earth in which we need to be friends for the sake of humanity. We don't have to cease being friends until aliens from other planets (some science fiction could be true) attack us then we become united to face a greater danger than we believe we pose to each other at the moment. Let us face all the major issues of this world together such as terrorism and Islamophobia.
