White Rock Distilleries Sells Three Olives Vodka
PORTLAND, Maine (October 15, 2007) – White Rock Distilleries, a privately owned
distilled spirits manufacturing, bottling and marketing corporation, is proud to announce
that they have recently sold the award-winning, super-premium Three Olives Vodka brand
to Proximo Spirits, Inc., a newly formed venture. Michel Dyens & Co. acted as exclusive
financial advisor to White Rock Distilleries, Inc.
Three Olives was first launched in 1999, and as late as 2001, they were selling less then
50,000 cases. In 2006 they surpassed the 600,000 case mark – making them the fastest
growing brand in the vodka category. The vodka is now ranked the #6 Imported vodka in
the United States and is trending to sell close to a million cases in 2007.
A significant amount of the growth of the brand is due to the addition of the flavor line
extensions – flavors now constitute over 50% of the Three Olives sales. White Rock was
innovative in creating original flavors not currently being marketed such as Three Olives
Cherry Vodka and Three Olives Grape Vodka which each sold 100,000 cases in 2006.
These original flavors helped fuel Three Olives growth and drive demand for the brand.
White Rock continued to add flavors to the line and they continued to see positive results.
Creative print campaigns for the Classic Vodka and the Flavored Vodkas increased
awareness of the Three Olives brand with consumers and trade, and unique on-premise
promotional events allowed for trial of the product. Through these innovative marketing
programs and unique flavor extensions, White Rock Distilleries was able to rapidly grow
the Three Olives brand.
It was the right time to sell the brand and White Rock Distilleries is excited about the sale.
“This means we can now focus our efforts and marketing dollars on other brands that are
in our portfolio, and new brands that are currently in development”, says Paul Coulombe,
President and CEO. Mr. Coulombe added that “given our innovative sales initiatives,
marketing programs and brand development at White Rock, we expect to develop another
million case brand in the near future”.
