Obstructive Sleep Apnea is a very dangerous, and potentially deadly sleep disorder that is usually caused by the tongue pressing against the soft palate and closing the airway when a person afflicted with OSA lays on their back while sleeping. It is most common in males that are over 40 years of age and overweight. There are some theories that suggest that the weight gain is due to lack of the production of Human Growth Hormone (HGH)that is not being made during stage 4 delta sleep.
