The Ponderosa Cattle & Guest Ranch has been a working cattle ranch since 1993 when the owners established the Guest Ranch with a 5000' paved airstrip,7000 square foot log guest lodge and eight cabins with 24 guest rooms. The rest is history as the ranch catered to guests from all over the world. From 2001 to 2004 Ponderosa Ranch was awarded Best Western Resort by International Resorts and Great Hotels. The ranch includes 30,000 deeded acres, 90,000 leased for a total of 120,000 acres.
The ranch includes the Silvies River, high mountain valleys, tall Ponderosa Pines, grassy meadows, snow covered peaks,aspen groves, the historic ranch buildings, the guest lodge, cabins and other ranch facilities all surrounded by the Malhuer Forest
The property was originally the Silvies River Valley Ranch and in 1952 the Pon family registered the name Ponderosa Ranch. At 120,000, total acres it represents one of the largest single-sized parcels of land in the Western United States.
