India, Republic of (Press Release) October 25, 2007 --
We are living in a world of cut throat competition where survival of the fittest is the only valid theory. Everyone is looking for some or the other way to put himself a step in front of his peers.
If that is the case with you, what could be better than a 60 years old international organization which has won the trust of thousands worldwide? AIESEC is globally the strongest non-political and non-profit youth organization today with a network spanning 100 countries and a growing membership of over 30,000.
It is offering young people, whether undergraduates, recent-graduates, post graduates or professionals, an opportunity to take up internship programs on an international level in management, technical, educational, development and cultural fields. The management and technical programs have tie-ups with some of the biggest corporate houses like TCS, Microsoft, PWC, DHL, Cadbury Schweppes, Coca-cola, etc. which take on deserving candidates and put their skills to good use. Educational programs involve opportunities to teach in schools, universities and institutes, while if you are inclined to do something for a social cause close to your heart, be it HIV, education, child rights, entrepreneurship, corporate-social responsibility or environment etc., you can go for a development traineeship with an NGO.
Sumit Mehrotra went for two internships through AIESEC and shared, “I joined Forewin, Ghana ltd (biggest import distribution company dealing in FMCG) as a development trainee. Satisfied by the first experience, I wanted to explore another part of the world. I chose to go on a second traineeship to China and have had no regrets whatsoever.”
The internships are the most cost effective means of gaining a foothold into the global market. AIESEC also conducts structured learning processes during the internship. When the internship has been successfully completed, AIESEC offers the status of alumni to the intern, which gives access to their worldwide network of countries.
The international exposure guarantees an overall development in personality and the work experience with a reputed brand name is a serious boost to the resume. It is also a chance to make a much needed impact on issues of global relevance, while at the same time a chance to be independent and enjoy a lot.
For the second year running, AIESEC in India was awarded the Regional Award for overall excellence in the Asia Pacific Region in recognition of a role as a pioneer AIESEC country. India's national board of advisors include leading industrialists such as Ratan Tata, Adi Godrej, Nanoo Pamnani, Deepak Parekh, M.S. Banga, Simon Scarff, Nikhil Khatau, Nandan Nilekani, Jagdish Parikh, Sanjay Bhatnagar and Ranjit Pandit.
The whole world is just a click away, as is a wonderful opportunity to live diversity and achieve excellence with a dash of fun. Simply log on to www.aiesec.org/india/delhiuniversity for more details
