Thomas Tribone began his professional career in 1974 as a chemical engineer and rapidly worked his way up through various management positions in oil and power companies. He was named one of the youngest general managers ever at the Atlantic Richfield Company and later became the manager for energy and environmental matters for Atlantic Richfield. After he received his MBA and Juris Doctor degrees, he began working with the AES Corporation in 1982 where he pioneered many first-of-a-kind business ideas, some of
which are now large areas of economic activity (including: the
acquisition of some of the largest utilities in the world, long-dated coal options, independent power in Mexico, and tolling power plants in the United States). Thomas Tribone is now the CEO of Guggenheim Global Infrastructure Company, a worldwide infrastructure and energy corporation that he founded. Tribone was involved in the early stages of deregulation and helped develop the concept of a "Global Power Company." He has served on the Boards of numerous industry groups, has testified before the US Congress on energy markets and his work has been covered in a number of articles and books including: Joy at Work, Cases in Contemporary Strategy Analysis, Power to People and What America Does Right.
