My Health Care Manager announces expansion to Sarasota, Fla.

(Free-Press-Release.com) October 26, 2007 -- SARASOTA, Fla. – My Health Care Manager LLC announces its expansion of services to assist older adults and their families with the issues and options of aging into Sarasota, Fla.

Based in Indianapolis and launched in 2005, My Health Care Manager provides health care managers that help older adults and their families navigate the many complex and oftentimes confusing decisions they face regarding health care and supporting arrangements.

“There is tremendous need among seniors and their families for a trusted advisor who will assist them with their issues regarding aging,” said Alan C. Stanford, president and CEO of My Health Care Manager. “The need for competent and objective guidance with difficult issues including living independently, following health plans and prescribed medicines and communicating with family members grows daily as more and more families are separated by miles or available time.”

My Health Care Manager’s Sarasota office is located at 8075 S. Beneva Road, Suite 6.

Curtis Grothmann has been named area vice president for My Health Care Manager in Sarasota.

He previously was executive director for continuing care retirement communities, including The Fountains at Lake Pointe Woods in Sarasota and Heartlands Senior Living Village in Maryland. Prior, Grothmann was vice president of a large apartment and property management company in Maryland and spent 18 years with Bethlehem Steel’s marine division. He is a U.S. Air Force veteran.

“Older adults benefit from our single source of support that helps them deal with the complexities and confusion that comes with the aging process,” Grothmann said. “The high senior population in and around Sarasota make the city a perfect choice for My Health Care Manager’s first expansion area.”

He earned undergraduate degrees in business and fine arts from Towson State University in Maryland and has been a participant in programs by the American Association of Homes and Services and Harvard Business School. Grothmann maintains associations with the Assisted Living Federation of America and the American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging.

Other new hires: Lori Gaetano, R.N., has been named team manager and Pat Whitman has been named development manager.
