United Kingdom of Great Britain & N. Ireland (Press Release) November 1, 2007 --
Distant Brits, British Expats favourite online grocery store is delighted to announce the launch of its brand new service Expat Despatch in time for Christmas delivery.
Although most high street retailers have an online buying facility they do not ship abroad. Now Distant Brits is offering this unique service. Customers can order their favourite toys from Argos or Knickers from M&S, have them delivered to Distant Brits’ head office in Dorset and they will do the rest. This includes checking the order is complete and undamaged, returning any damaged goods to the store and re-packaging if necessary.
Delivery time is dependent on the supplier sending their goods to Distant Brits, but once the merchandise is received the order can be shipped within 48 hours. Depending on where the parcel is being sent i.e. Europe v Far East customers will receive their goods within a maximum of 5 working days.
Handling costs are kept to the minimum, £20 within the EU plus shipping and £25 outside the EU plus shipping. If customers also order from Distant Brits at the same time, there’s a £5 discount on these charges.
Another bonus for European-based Expats (who enjoy a flat rate shipping charge) if they place an order with Distant Brits they may not have to pay any additional shipping charges

We can ship anything as long as it's legal and not live!
The ocean is no longer barrier to getting your ball-gowns from Monsoon or your favourite cosmetics from Boots.
Information for Editors:
Distant Brits is an online grocery store selling all the old British childhood favourites as well as grown-up provisions. With over 5,000 products to choose from including confectionary, snack foods, larder provisions and household cleaning products, Distant Brits deliver globally at highly competitive shipping prices.
The site is user-friendly for even the most timid of online shoppers.
Accepting all major credit cards the system uses the most sophisticated and up to date security payment systems ensuring that the customer’s card details are 100% secure.
Sarah Daykin set up the company in 2003 as a result of being a hungry expat herself whilst living and working in both Africa and America. Experiencing the normal home-sickness Sarah and her fellow expats all yearned for quintessential British fayre; and despite an apparent plethora of sites claiming to deliver they were constantly being let down.
