Trumbull resident, Evan Centopani is ready to be a professional Body Builder; the only thing is his way, 35 other competitors that he must defeat on November 17 at the NPC National Body Building Championship. Only one Super Heavy weight (225lb+) will walk away as a new Professional.
Centopani was not always in this great of shape. Throughout his childhood Evan was over weight, as a kindergartener he weighted 100lbs. He got progressively heavier till his freshman year in high school, when he lost 70lbs. Since then Evan has changed everything in his life to support his new lifestyle. Centopani was approached by top trainers to perfect his already brawny physique. With much resistance Centopani was persuaded to compete in his first show in 2005. To Centopani’s surprise he won his class and the overall. The industry took notice of Centopani after he won his 2nd show at the 2006 Jr. Nationals.
Over the last year, Centopani has been working on his bring his legs up and getting into the best shape of his life for the November 17-18 show. He has appeared twice on the cover of Muscular Development Magazine, the first amateur to have graced the renowned cover. Centopani has been picked by most professionals, fans, and magazines as this years projected winner, two weeks away. “I was lucky to see Evan about 5 weeks before his show and he looked amazing. He will blow them all away in November. I have seen many bodybuilders in my 15 years in the fitness industry, but Evan is a different breed, someone you can look up with integrity and brains. He brings a lot to the sport and you will see a lot more of him,” Jenny Hendershott professional fitness athlete.
Centopani has also started a local business, The Muscle Camp. He will have four, 3 day camps in New Haven and Long Island, helping educate men and adolescents about staying healthy, lifting weights and bodybuilding as a sport. “ I am looking forward to working in the sport, I love helping people achieve there goals, wheather it is to lose weight or put on muscle. I am so excited that I get to give back, education and helping others is my passion,” Centopani proudly said.
