FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) November 9, 2007 -- BioInformant launches GRANTAlerts™, a service that filters information contained in the NIH Grant Funding Database (CRISP), to supply a source of targeted sales leads to research supply companies. GRANTAlerts™ uses internet algorithms, known as "spiders," to filter thousands of database entries in real-time, in order to identify individuals that are likely consumers of a company’s products or services.

Every year, the National Institutes of Health (NIH) funds thousands of new biomedical research projects at various institutions. GRANTAlerts™ filters the NIH grant database using keywords that characterize a company's products and provides details and contact information for all current or historical projects that match those keywords, in a database-friendly format for easy sorting.

Furthermore, each week GRANTAlerts™ provides a list of all new grants matching a company's search terms. As a result, sales teams using this service are able to be the first to contact these investigators after they receive funding, providing an enviable edge over the competition.

To use this service, company leaders simply identify keyword relevant to their products. GRANTAlerts™ then uses those keyword to screen for targeted researchers who are funded and have intent to use products of the type supplied by that company. For example, the following is an example of counts of current research projects funded by the NIH: Stem Cells – 2090, Angiogenesis – 1289, Culture Matrix – 1380, VEGF – 483, Annexin 221. Keywords selected can be as broad or specific as necessary to appropriately position a sales team with focused leads.

For each funded researcher identified by those keywords, GRANTAlerts™ provides:

• Principal investigator name, email address, & institution
• Principal investigator mailing address (unless restricted)
• Project title and description
• Project start and end dates

By receiving a on-going source of targeted sales leads, a sales team is able to spend less time identifying potential clients and more time pursuing prospect-to-customer conversion. This increases effectiveness and return on investment (ROI) for sales efforts, producing greater profit for a company.
