Attorney David L. Pratt II joins
Decker, Jones, McMackin, McClane, Hall & Bates

FORT WORTH – Attorney David L. Pratt II has joined Decker, Jones, McMackin, McClane, Hall & Bates, P.C. As an associate attorney, Pratt will focus his practice in the firm’s litigation and business transactions sections.

Pratt received his Bachelors of Business Administration with honors from the McCombs School of Business at The University of Texas in 2004, and graduated cum laude with his Doctor of Jurisprudence from Texas Wesleyan School of Law in 2007, the same year he was admitted to the State Bar of Texas.

While at Texas Wesleyan, Pratt distinguished himself by winning several national legal writing and advocacy competitions. He was the recipient of the 2007 Scribes American Society of Legal Writers Brief-Writing Award, and was national champion of the 2006 Entertainment Law Moot Court Competition, where he also received best brief honors. In recognition of his advocacy achievements, Pratt was inducted into the 2007 National Order of Barristers. In addition, he served as the managing editor of the Texas Wesleyan Law Review for the 2006–2007 academic year.

As an undergraduate student at The University of Texas, Pratt earned the Hugh Liedtke Scholar in Business Award and was a recipient of The University of Texas College Scholar Award.

Before his legal career, Pratt served in the United States Army as an airborne infantry team leader from 1995-1998, and then pursued entrepreneurial opportunities as chief operating officer of Memorabilia & Antiquities, Inc. (1999-2002) and co-founder of Boundless Staffing, Inc. (2001-2002).

In addition to his practice at Decker Jones, Pratt also serves as an adjunct professor at Texas Wesleyan School of Law, where he coaches the school’s appellate advocacy teams for state and national moot court competitions.
