New "Human Search Engine" Website, Searchamigo.net Goes Live

A new human powered, forum based, internet search website went live yesterday. Searchamigo.net uses a standard web forum to conduct personalized searches free for its members.

"I have a lot of family members constantly asking me "Can you find me a good deal on a TV?”, or "Hey, do you know where I can find a program that converts this file to that file?", and various other different questions, such as basic tech support stuff. That is where the idea for this came from." says Anthony Perry president and founder of Search Amigo.

He plans on keeping the site free through donations, and eventually selling ad space to keep it that way.

"My goal is to do this for free (only taking donations) for now, and hope it becomes popular. If the site becomes popular, I can improve it, and then sell ad space so I can turn it into a major business. Selling ad space is key, because it is a good way to keep the site free. It is a lofty goal, but you never know."
